Scarlet Runner is a classic heirloom pole bean grown as much for its beauty as its harvest. Vigorous vines produce clusters of bright red, hummingbird-loved flowers followed by long, flat green pods. Beans can be picked young as snap beans or left to mature into large, flavorful mottled purple-and-black dry beans. Exceptionally productive and more tolerant of cool weather than most beans.
