The Big Mustard Momma is a massive and fiery superhot variety bred by pepper grower Troy Primo, the creator of the famous 7 Pot Primo. True to its name, this pepper produces some of the largest superhot pods, often weighing much more than typical superhots, with smooth, wrinkled skin and unique mustard-to-olive-green coloring when fully ripe.

Despite their unusual color, the flavor is bold—fruity, earthy, and slightly floral—followed by an intense, searing heatthat ranks well into the superhot category. With Scoville levels estimated to push over 1,000,000 SHU, it’s a pepper for true heat lovers and sauce makers.

🌱 Planting Guide:

Start Indoors:

• Begin seeds 10–12 weeks before your last frost date.

• Plant ¼ inch deep in a fine, well-draining seed-starting mix.

• Keep soil warm, ideally 80–90°F — germination for superhots can take 2–4 weeks.

Transplanting:

• Harden off before moving outdoors once night temps stay above 60°F.

• Plant in the garden or large containers with 24–30 inches spacing in full sun.

Soil & Water:

• Grows best in rich, fertile, well-draining soil with compost mixed in.

• Keep soil evenly moist but not soggy.

• Mulch to help conserve moisture and steady soil temperature.

Care:

• Plants grow large and heavy with pods—support with stakes or cages.
